EVENT INFO:

This fundamental women’s self-defense class is designed to cover the basic concepts of self-defense: Awareness, distance management, and controlling the attack by using proper technique over a stronger opponent.

In this introductory class we will be covering:
Situational Awareness
Distance Management
Proper falling techniques
Sucker punch defense
Winning the Clinch
Throwing a larger opponent to the ground
Submission and control holds

Through exploring these techniques, you will discover how Brazilian jiu-jitsu- which is a self-defense based martial arts, enables a smaller opponent to stop an attack and control their attacker until further help arrives.

Learning, understanding, and practicing the techniques taught today will lead to the confidence to perform these techniques should you ever be in an unfavorable situation.

Remember, as with any activity, the amount of time you dedicate to practicing will determine your body’s automatic response when you are in a panic.
Instructors:

Charles Gomes- 1st degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (12 Years practitioner)
Dana Bridger-Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (5 years practitioner)
